Panthers Are Back On Track

Panthers Win Two in a Row

Milledgeville, Ga. - On March 29, Panthers went on the road to face Georgia College. Florida Tech (16-12, SSC 5-7) defeated the Cats 7-4 in game one of a three game series. 

Florida Tech recorded seven runs on 15 hits, seven RBI's, three extra base hits and three base on balls. 

One the mound for the Panthers Andrew Marzheuser who pitched seven innings allowing seven hits, one run, and 10 strikeouts. Marzheuser ranks first in ERA in the Sunshine State Conference (1.03). The right hander also ranks second in strikeouts and tied for fourth in wins in the SSC. 

Ryan Allain recorded his sixth save of the season and now is tied for second in the SSC.

Rodnie Bernard has made a huge impact for the Panthers in the leadoff spot. The Florida native went 3-for 5 with one run scored. He is now hitting .378 ranking first on the team and sixth in the SSC. Bernard also leads the team in hits and third in the SSC (42).  

James Gronberg had a very good day at the plate going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a triple. Gronberg leads the team in run scored and leads the SSC with 36 runs. The left hander also leads the team in on base percentage and now ranks second in the SSC (.480). The senior also recorded two stolen bases on the game making it 18 on the season. With this performance Gronberg tied for first in the stolen base category in the SSC.  

Jacob Buser continues to swing the bat well for the Panthers as he recorded one hit on four at bats with two RBI's. Buser leads the team in RBI's and ranks second in the SSC with 36 RBI's. 

Vincenzo Catanza has been swinging the bat well for the Panthers since he became a regular starter. He recorded two hits on four at bats with a run scored and two RBI's and his first home run of the season.

Brett Parrish went 3-for-5 with two RBI's on the game to contribute to the Panther victory. With this performance Parrish is now hitting .310 on the season. 

The Panthers currently have five players hitting above .300 and rank fourth as a team in the SSC. 

The Crimson and Gray will be back tomorrow for a doubleheader game against the Cats. First pitched is schedule for 12 p.m. and game two will follow.
