Melbourne, Fla. - On March 9, the Panthers looked to continue their winning streak to make it seven games in a row. Florida Tech was able to accomplish that by defeating Bridgeport 15-1 in nine linings of play.
On the mound for the Panthers was
Preston Schumacher who pitched four innings allowing just one run. The freshman also recorded three strikeouts. Greg Berkemeier gave the ball to
Jake Lane in the fifth innings. Lane pitched three innings earning the win for the Panthers. The senior recorded three strikeouts and only allowed one hit without allowing a run.
The Panthers had a big day offensively hitting .467 as a team.
James Gronberg had a big day for the Panthers going 3-for-4 with one RBI, four runs and one stolen base.
Brett Parrish went 3-for-5 with three RBI's on the game. The freshman has been on fire in the past few games now hitting .378 with 12 RBI's.
Blaise Maris recorded his fifth home run of the season in today's game. The catcher went 2-for-5 with two RBI's, two runs and a home run.
Panthers continue to play quality baseball as they win their seventh game in a row.
The Crimson and Gray will be back Tuesday, March 12 as they host Winona State. First Pitched is scheduled for 3 p.m.
