Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - Florida Tech finished the first day of the Shark Invitational in which they split on the day.
Tech played Belmont Abbey College (0-6) and Valdosta State University (3-3).
Game One | Florida Tech vs Belmont Abbey
Tech collected 40 kills on 116 attempt for a team hitting percentage of .241.
Audrey Keenan set the tone for the Panthers as the senior collected her first double-double of the season. Keenan registered 16 kills and 11 digs to help the Panthers earned a three nothing victory.
Jocelyn Garcia tallied seven kills on 16 attempts for a .375 hitting percentage.
Sheila Villagrasa had 31 assists and eight digs during the win.
Game Two | Florida Tech vs Valdosta State
The Crimson and Gray collected 41 kills, 39 assists, two serve aces, 11 blocks, and 76 digs.
The Panthers and Blazers battled throughout every match (25-23, 25-23, 25-16), but unfortunately Tech was unable to earn a win.
Keenan and
Elena Ciulli collected 10 kills apiece for the Panthers.
Villagrasa continued to paced the Panthers on defense with her third double-double of the season. She collected 35 assists and 20 digs during the match.

The Crimson and Gray are back in action for a doubleheader tomorrow against Wayne State College and Grand Valley State. First match is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and the second starts at 2:30 p.m.
