MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Florida Tech volleyball team fell to visiting No. 16 Barry University Saturday evening by a score of 3-1. Trailing 1-0 the Panthers tied up the match 1-1 before the Buccaneers took the next two sets to win the match.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- after earning the first point, Tech fell behind in set one 4-1 before coming back to tie up the set 7-7.
- Barry pushed out to a 9-7 lead before going ahead 15-10.
- With the Panthers down 20-15, the Buccaneers closed out the set scoring five straight points to take set one 25-15.
- Tech started off the second set by going ahead 4-2 and later 9-6.
- Barry tied up the set at 9-9 prior to the Crimson and Grey going up 14-10 on the Buc's.
- Tied again at 14-14, the Panthers pushed ahead 18-15 until Barry recaptured the lead at 19-18.
- With the No. 16 team in the nation ahead 22-21, Florida Tech didn't give up and rallied four straight points to close out the set 25-22 and tie up the match 1-1.
- The third set got off with Barry going ahead 4-1, until Tech rallied off four points to take the lead 5-4.
- Tech would later pull ahead by two points at 9-7 prior to Barry tying up the match at 9-9 and later scoring six unanswered points to pull ahead 15-10.
- Tech rallied off four points of their own to bring the match back to within one point at 15-14 and later tied the match up 16-16.
- Tied, Barry went ahead 19-16 and wouldn't trail for the remainder of the set even going on a four-point run to pull ahead 23-17.
- Down, the3 panthers scored four of the five points to trail 24-21, before the Buc's scored the final point and took set three 25-21 and going ahead in the match 2-1.
- The No. 16 team in the nation went on a huge run in the fourth scoring 16 unanswered points to take a 17-1 lead on Tech.
- After a couple attempts to get back in the match the extensive lead Barry had was just too much as the Buc's took set four 25-9 and won the match 3-1.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Florida Tech is now 8-59 all time against Barry.
- The last time the Panthers defeated the Buc's was back on Octobers 23, 2013.
- Kelly Merz recorded a career high 11 set assists in today's match.
