MELBOURNE, Fla.- The Panther volleyball team took on No. 4 Tampa on Saturday and the fourth-ranked Spartans came away with a 3-0 victory. Florida Tech moved to 8-9 on the season and 3-6 in conference play.

STATS OF THE MATCH:

• Florida Tech jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Spartans quickly turned things around to go up 15-3.
• Panthers closed in on UT trailing by just seven (17-10).
• Tampa rallied for eight of the final 10 points to take set one (25-12).
• The opening of set two was much closer as the teams were tied 6-6.
• Tech scored three straight points on a Katie Erdmann kill and two UT errors to lead 9-6.
• Teams traded points until an 11-2 run put the Spartans ahead 20-14.
• UT kept the comfortable lead taking set two 25-20.
• Tech took a 5-2 lead in set three before UT scored the next five points to pull ahead (7-5).
• After trading points, two Erdmann kills tied the set 9-9
• Building off momentum, Tech went on a 7-2 run to lead 16-11.
• Six UT kills and two Panther errors cut the Tech lead to one (20-19).
• Panthers scored the next two points, but UT went on a six-point rally to take set three 25-22 and the match 3-0.
• Erdmann led all players with 14 kills to go along with four digs and two blocks.
• Kenzie Delacher led all players with 30 assists and a team-high eight digs.

 
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

• The Panthers are now 0-90 all-time against Tampa.
• Ashley Rant's 10 kills and .556 hitting percentage are career-highs
• Tech's best set came in set two with a team .324 hitting percentage
• Panthers lead the SSC in digs with 928 and are second in kills with 739
