STATS OF GAME:
  • The Purple Knights struck first when Conall Roberts got caught in a pickle between first and second, scoring Jake Woods.
  • The final runs of the game for Bridgeport came in the top of the second inning, when Tyler Sharfetz reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Jack Palmer.
  • The Panthers scored their first runs in the bottom of the fourth, when Josh Ford reached first on an error, plating Jakob Newton.
  • Sam Schner reached first base on a fielder's choice, scoring both Alec Eldridge and Josh Ford.
  • The Panthers added to their lead in the bottom of the fifth, thanks to Newton's triple to right field, plating both Jack Nagy and Dylan Dohanos.
  • Brett Parrish hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Newton.
  • Luca Wentzel hit a sacrifice fly to left field, plating Eldridge.
  • Nagy singled to left field, advancing Dohanos and Schner, and scoring Paul Castillo.
  • The final run for the Panthers came when Nagy hit a double to right field, plating Wentzel.
  • Joey Hecht pitched one and one-third innings, allowed three runs, three hits, and threw 39 pitches.
  • Danny Vassallo pitched four and two-third innings, allowing no runs, two hits, and struck-out four Purple Knights.
  • Aiden Pryzgoda pitched one perfect inning, striking out two in the process.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
  • This was the first meeting between Florida Tech and Bridgeport since March 9th, 2019. Florida Tech now leads the all-time series 4-0.
  • Jakob Newton is now tied second for most hits in the Sunshine State Conference.
