Panthers Lineup Continues Hot Streak Versus Griffins

Panthers put up 18 unanswered runs to run past Griffins

INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

STATS OF GAME:
  • Chestnut Hill struck first in the top of the first when R.J Huth scored on a wild pitch. Andrew Dietz singled to right center, scoring Sam Barletta.
  • The Panthers would immediately answer in the bottom of the first thanks to Brett Parrish's RBI infield single, plating Dylan Dohanos.
  • Alec Eldridge hit an RBI triple to left center field, allowing Dylan Owens and Parrish to score.
  • Jack Nagy hit an RBI triple to right center field in the bottom of the third, scoring Sam Schner, Hayden Kimball, and Eldridge.
  • Jakob Newton hit an RBI single to right field, plating Nagy.
  • Owens hit an RBI double to center field, scoring Newton.
  • Kimball singled to right center field in the bottom of the fourth, plating both Paul Castillo and Eldridge.
  • Castillo would bring in the last of the Panthers' runs when he tripled down the right field line, scoring both Eldridge and Owens.
  • The Griffins attempted to rally back in the top of the seventh when Connor Evans singled to right center, scoring Anthony Coombs and Corbin Dunnuck.
  • Noah Steckley pitched three and two-third innings, allowing two runs, one hit, striking out five, and threw 62 pitches.
  • Aiden Pryzgoda pitched a perfect one and one-third innings, striking out one in the process.
  • Andrew Dunham pitched one and one-third innings, allowing six runs and five hits.
  • Andres Tapia pitched two-thirds of an inning, allowing only one hit, and striking out one Griffin.
  • Andres Rodriguez pitched a perfect one inning, striking out one Griffin.
  • Alex Carpenter closed the game for the Panthers, allowing only one hit.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
  • This was the first series between Florida Tech and Chestnut Hill since March 3rd, 2016. Florida Tech now leads the all-time series 4-0.
  • Paul Castillo leads the Sunshine State Conference in triples, totaling five so far this season.
  • Jakob Newton extended his hitting streak to 15 with his RBI single to right field.
