Panthers Remain Unbeaten With A 2-1 Win At Eckerd

 STATS OF THE MATCH: 
  • Both teams came out aggressive and put up a fight in the first half, but Tech had the advantage in shots 8-5. 
  • Panther's goalkeeper Luis Tovar Romero, Sr. kept the Tritons off the board early in the 5th minute when Harry Laing took a shot, but Tovar Romero came up with the save.
  • The Tritons took a 1-0 lead in the 41' minute with a goal by Tommy Shepherd. 
  • The Tritons led 1-0 at halftime. 
  • The Panthers responded in the second half with a goal from Ettore Casadei in the 65' to tie the game 1-1.
  • Just 10 minutes later in the 75', Fabio Amaral found the back of the net to give the Panthers the 2-1 lead. 
  • Soeren Nygaard picked up his first two assists of the season. 
  • Tech led in shots 18-7, shots on goal 9-4, and corner kicks 2-0. Five cautions were given, Panthers received three of them. 
  • Tovar Romero was credited with three saves on the night, while Lynden Dawson had seven. 
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
  • Florida Tech is now 27-9-3 all-time against Eckerd. They are unbeaten in their past five matchups with the Tritons. 
  • This is Florida Tech's first road win against Eckerd since September 2017. 
  • Amaral and Casadei both recorded their third goals on the season, which is also a team high. 
  • Florida Tech has held their opponents to just 41 shots in 7 games, including just 18 on goal, while Tech has recorded 81 shots with 42 shots on goal. 
  • This is the fifth game of the season Tech had 10 or more shots. 
  • Florida Tech is one of two teams to remain unbeaten in the south region. Montevallo is the other team.
