Men’s Rowing Heads to Head of the Charles

MELBOURNE, Fla. –  Florida Tech men's rowing team opens the 2023-24 season this Sunday, Oct. 22 at the 59th annual Head of the Charles Regatta.

The Head of the Charles Regatta takes place in Boston, Massachusetts, and is the largest fall rowing regatta in the world.

The Panthers will compete in the Men's Championship Four. The crew will be coxed by senior Justin Woodyard, with sophomore Sandro Gardella in the stroke seat, junior Justas Kuskevicius in three seat, senior Domantas Marocka in two seat, and Arnedas Kelmelis in the bow.

Race time:
1:21 p.m. – Men's Championship Four

"I am excited for the men to have an opportunity to race up in Boston this weekend," said Head Coach Adam Thorstad. "The Head of the Charles is always a fun and exciting event, with a lot of strong opponents ready to showcase some mid-fall speed while challenging the coxswains with the turns. These young men have put in some great work thus far, I look forward to seeing how they put it all together."

Tech will be competing in a field of 12 against Division I crews from Cornell, Princeton, Syracuse, Georgetown, Oregon State, Boston University, Wisconsin, and the University of Pennsylvania.

The regatta will have live video coverage of the event via YouTube. Click in the "Live Video" link at the top-right of this page to follow along.
