MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Tech men's soccer earns their way into the Sunshine State Conference Tournament Championship for the second consecutive year after defeating Rollins 2-1.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- Florida Tech came ready, scoring the first goal in the 7th minute of play. After making a run down the field, Nokkvi Nokkvason crossed it into the box, finding the boot of Ettore Casadei. Casadei one touched it into the back of the net.
- The Panthers held possession most of the first half, registering seven shots against Rollins' three.
- Twenty minutes later, Tech found the back of the net again, extending the lead, 2-0.
- Casade's shot went off the hands of the Tars keeper, Max Obermeier, but Filippo Fazzi was right there for the rebound. Fazzi slid to get a foot on it, getting past Obermeier.
- Rollins had two opportunities in the first half, but both met the hands of Iker Basitda.
- Fabio Amaral got the first shot off for the Panthers in the second half, three minutes in.
- However, it was the Tars who were able to capitalize on a wide-open opportunity in the 50th minute.
- Rollins pushed the ball downfield, past the Panthers, creating a one-on-one with Basitda. Bastida dove for Jorge Lamerias's shot but came just short as it hit the back of the net.
- Rollins was building off the momentum, getting two back-to-back shots off two minutes later. Bastida came up with the saves each time.
- Tech held possession for most of the remaining minutes, tallying seven more shots to the Tars two.
- Neither team was able to capitalize for the remainder of the match.
- Basita and Obermeier each tallied four saves.
- Both teams received six corner kicks.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Florida Tech moves to 19-30-6 all-time against the Rollins Tars, including 11-9-1 at home.
- This was the eighth meeting all-time against the two teams in the SSC Tournament, the fourth in the semifinals, and the first at Florida Tech.
- It marks Tech's second win against Rollins in the SSC Tournament.
- Ettore Casadei's goal was his seventh of the season.
- Filippo Fazzi's goal was his second of the season.
