Aizenberg Takes Home Gold as More Records are Broken at Day Four of SSC Championships

Clearwater, Fla. – The Florida Tech men's and women's swim team competed in the fourth day of the Sunshine State Conference Championships at the Long Center Sports Complex in Clearwater Florida on Saturday, February 18th.
 
100 Back
Daniel Aizenberg was the Panthers first medal winner of the 2023 SSC Championships. The Maale Adumim, Israel native took home the gold finishing first in the A final of the 100 Back with a time of 47.56 seconds.
 
In the 100 back for the women, Kat Reburn finished in eighth place in the B final with a time of 59.18s.
 
200 Free Relay
The women's team of Nicole Rautenberg, Harper Powell, Debora Xavier and Shaelyn Rutta took home bronze medals as the team came in third place in the A Finals of the 200 Free Medley. The teams time of 1:34.12 sets a new school record in the relay while Nicole Rautembergs leadoff 50 Free time of 23.75s also set a new school record for the 50 free. Tech other women's team of Christina Ramierz, Kat Reburn, Brynn Romberger and Rylee Nepple took home fourth in the B-Final of the event.
 
The men's 200 Free Relay team of Danizel Aizenberg, Max Martino, john Fonnotto and Joao Nascimento finished fourth in the A final with a time of 1:21.48. Tech's second team of Reston Bartlett, Matthew Goembel, Jacob Coutant and Nathaniel Allen took home fifth in the B Final of the relay with a time of 1:24.16.
 
100 Breast
In the men's 100-yard breast, Connor Orth of the Panthers, finished second in the men's B Final of the 100 Breast with a time of 55.61s
 
200 Free
John Fonnotto of the Florida Tech men's team finished sixth in the A Final with a time of 1:49.58. in the men's B Final Nathan Scott finished fifth with a time of 1:53.60 while Sean Catron finished in seventh with a time of 1:57.34. finishing eighth in the B Final for Tech was Jacob Coutant who recorded a time of 1:58.34.
 
500 Free
Kate Helminiak of the Tech women's swim team took home fifth place in the A Finals of the 500-yard free as she recorded a time of 4:57.28. in the 500 Yard free for the men, David Armstrong took home seventh place in the B Final with a time of 4:38.18.
 
Up Next: The Final day of the SSC Championships will begin tomorrow, Sunday, February 19th with prelims beginning at 10 A.M and the Final races beginning at 5 P.M.
