EVANSVILLE, In. - The Florida Tech men's swimming team finishes day four of competition at the 2026 NCAA National Championships on Friday, Mar. 13.
All six Panthers were in action today as Tech competed in the 200 fly, 500 free and the 200 free relay.
Akos Hajagos hit a school record time in the 200 fly as he touched the wall in 1:44.48. His time placed him tied for third in the event which got him into the "A" finals during the night session.
Efe Ongoren took to the water as he placed 24th in the 500 free with a time of 4:29.59, just less than three seconds of qualifying for finals.
In the night session, the Panthers were on the biggest stage multiple times with a national championship on the line. First,
Akos Hajagos entered the 200 fly national championship race with the third seed for his performance in prelims. Hajagos placed fourth and earned All-American status with his time of 1:48.88. He earned 15 team points for the event.
In the final race of the day,
Lucas Mitchelmore,
Andy Pleiman,
Emiel van Oord and
Dylan Ostolaza competed for the national championship in the 200 free relay. The tandem placed 12th with a school record time of 1:19.35. The team earned 10 team points.
After an impressive night, Florida Tech will return for the final day of the 2026 NCAA National Championships on Saturday, Mar. 14.
