MELBOURNE, Fla. - After splitting the first two games of the weekend, Florida Tech and Rollins battled again to decide who would take home an important SSC series win. The Panthers staged a comeback late in the eighth inning, but ultimately fell short in extra innings.

STATS OF GAME:
- Rollins scored three runs in the first inning on a RBI double by Jeslyn Whitehead, a RBI sacrifice fly from Cameron Meehan, and a wild pitch.
- Adams Torres gave the Tars their fourth run with a BRI single to left field in the fifth inning.
- Tech threatened to score in the fifth inning with runners on first and second, but a 4-6-3 double play ended the frame.
- In the sixth inning, Josh Ford got the Panthers on the board with a RBI single to right field that scored Jason Blackstone.
- In the eighth inning, Tech scored two on a RBI single to right field by Brett Kelly and a throwing error from the Rollins first baseman.
- The next batter, Austin Sewell, tied the game with a RBI single to left field that scored Kelly.
- The Panthers had runners on first and second with one out in the ninth with a chance to win the game. However, a strikeout and a groundout sent the game to extra innings.
- Andres Antonini delivered the game-winning hit for the Tars in the 12th inning as a pinch hitter with a RBI double down the right-field line.
- Blackstone reached second base with two outs in the bottom of the 12th, but a fly out to right field secured the win for Rollins.
- RHP Dylan Cleveland threw seven innings while giving up four earned runs on four hits. The freshman struck out five, walked two, and hit two batters.
- RHP Danny Vassallo took the loss out of the bullpen giving up his lone earned run in the 12th inning. He threw five innings and gave up two hits while striking out five.
- RHP Kieran Casey threw five innings of scoreless baseball for Rollins to start the game, but it was RHP Austin Long who was registered the win.
- The Panthers had nine hits with Austin Sewell leading the way with three hits.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- The Panthers fall to 73-85-1 all-time against Rollins.
- After three SSC series, Tech sits in fourth place in the conference standings.
UP NEXT: Florida Tech returns to action on Friday, March 24th to begin an SSC series with Embry-Riddle. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. from Andy Seminick-Les Hall Field.
