ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Sitting alone in third place in the SSC standings, the Panthers traveled to Eckerd to begin a three-game weekend series. The Tritons took the lead in the first inning and never gave it back, as the Panthers were defeated 11-3.

STATS OF GAME:
- The Tritons hopped on the Panthers in the first inning with three runs. The final two runs were unearned, taking advantage of an infield error with two outs that kept the inning alive.
- Andres Suarez brought Tech back to within one run in the second inning with a 2-RBI single to left-center field.
- With the bases loaded and two outs in the fifth inning, Kyle Ericson delivered for Eckerd with a grand slam to left field.
- A RBI single from Tyler Cox and a bases-loaded walk gave the Tritons a 9-2 advantage in the sixth inning.
- In the seventh inning, Cole Patrick hit his third home run of the season, which was a solo shot to left field.
- In the eighth inning, Eckerd scored two runs on wild pitches to push its lead to 11-3.
- RHP Mitch Harding was the losing pitcher for the Panthers. He gave up seven runs, five of which were earned, on nine hits. Harding struck out two and walked two.
- RHP Tyler Vermillion was the first pitcher in relief for Tech. He gave up two earned runs on two hits with two walks in one-third of an inning.
- RHP Carter Cooke threw one and two-thirds innings of scoreless baseball. He struck out one and walked one.
- LHP Andres Tapia struck out the side in one inning of work, but allowed two earned runs on two hits with one walk and one hit batter.
- LHP Jacob Stipp was the winning pitcher for Eckerd. He threw seven innings and gave up three earned runs on five hits.
- Tech had seven hits with Suarez and Austin Sewell leading the way with two hits each.

- The Panthers drop to 67-53 all-time against the Tritons.
- Patrick now leads the Panthers with three home runs on the season.
