MELBOURNE, Fla.- Madilyn Dutton of the Florida Tech softball team has been named the Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.
 
This is the Bristolville, Ohio native's first time receiving the award this season and the first of her career.
 
The Panthers earned a series sweep over Barry this past weekend after defeating the Buccaneers 2-0 Friday night, before a 1-0 win in game one Saturday and a walk-off win in game two.
 
The freshman pitcher threw the first complete game shutout of her career in game two on Saturday. Dutton allowed four hits and a walk while dishing out a career-high seven strikeouts.
 
Dutton held opposing hitters to a .160 average and registered a 0.71 WHIP.
 
The softball team is back in action Wednesday, Apr. 19 at home vs. Flagler in a doubleheader. The First pitch is set for 4 pm.
