Panthers and Lions Tie in Hard-Fought Match

Fabio Amaral scored his fourth goal of the season

SAINT LEO, Fla.- The Florida Tech men's soccer team traveled to Saint Leo for their second SSC matchup of the season. Tech played Saint Leo earlier this season, ending in a 1-1 draw. The outcome was the same tonight as both teams battled in a hard-fought match, but neither team was able to find the game-winner.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
  • The Lions struck first in the 7th minute to take an early 1-0 lead.
  • The Panthers had an opportunity to tie things up in the 14th minute on a shot by Fabio Amaral, but Saint Leo's keeper Ricardo Ceballos came up with the save.
  • At the half, Florida Tech trailed 1-0.
  • Both teams recorded six shots at halftime.
  • Florida Tech came out of the break with a sense of urgency, looking for the equalizer.
  • In the 62nd minute, a Lions foul led to a penalty kick. Amaral took advantage and tied the game at 1-1.
