MELBOURNE, FLA. – The Florida Panthers volleyball managed to sweep the (RV) Barry University Buccaneers on Friday night on the first "Aloha Friday" of the season. The Panthers came out victorious sweeping the Bucs in three straight sets for Tech's first win over Barry in nearly 10 years.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
First Set:
- Florida Tech took a big stride in the first set as the Panthers went ahead early against the Buccaneers jumping out to a 7-3 lead.
- The early lead was powered by two kills each from Chiara Patelli and María Jesús Muñoz.
- As Tech lead by five at 12-7, the Bucs looked to come back and trailed by just two at 12-10. The comeback effort was capped off by a kill from Mariana Bertran.
- As the Crimson and Gray led by three, 14-11, the Panthers recorded five unanswered points to lead 19-11. The big offensive push was led by two service aces from Patelli.
- Barry attempted to try to shorten its lead, making a comeback and scoring five of the final seven points to trail by just two at 24-22.
- A service error from the Bucs however, capped off the first set for the Panthers as Tech managed to win 25-22 and take a 1-0 lead over Barry in the match.
Second Set:
- Following Barry's first set loss, the Bucs attempted to take control of the second set as Diana Akopova recorded the Bucs' first three kills of the set to lead 4-2.
- The Panthers rallied back with three straight points to take the 5-4 lead with kills coming from Lueger and Glassgold.
- Tech trailed again in the set down 9-7, before scoring seven unanswered points to regain the lead at 14-9.
- Freshman Cordelia Kearns highlighted the seven-point run, recording the final two kills In the rally.
- Another four unanswered points from Tech later in the set pushed them ahead 18-12.
- Barry attempted to fight back bringing its deficit back to within just four points, trailing 22-18.
- Three points away from taking a 2-0 lead in the match, two kills from Kearns and one from Antia Vallecas Rodriguez gave Tech a 25-19 win in the second set to win the set.
Third Set:
- The Panthers did not let up, leading 6-1 early in the third set.
- Three straight kills from Muñoz were to thank for the early offense.
- Barry couldn't find its rhythm in the final set as Tech continued to push ahead.
- Back-to-back kills from Varvara Osychenko brought the Panthers lead back to just three points, leading 12-3.
- With Florida Tech ahead 14-11, five unanswered points looked to bring the set out of reach.
- A service ace from Jeanne Hassoun and kills from Kearns and Lueger allowed Tech to advance its lead to eight points at 19-11.
- Three straight kills by Muñoz, Kearns and Glassgold brought Tech to within three points of winning the set, leading 22-15.
- As the Crimson and Gray led 23-18, a service error from Barry's Fiona Baker and a service ace from Kenzie Delacher gave the Panthers its first win over the Bucs in nearly 10 years, winning the final set 25-18 and winning the match in three straight sets.

- Barry continues to lead the all-time series against Florida Tech 9-59.
- Prior to tonight's match, the Bucs had won the previous 17 matches against Tech.
- Tech's last win against Barry was on October 23, 2013, in four sets.

- Kenzie Delacher tallied 22 set assists in the match for a team high.
- Vallecas Rodriguez led the team in digs with 14.
