OCALA, Fla.- Florida Tech's women's swimming program started it's journey towards hoisting up an SSC Championship on Wednesday night, begging the 2024 SSC Swimming Championships in Ocala, Florida by competing In the 800 Freestyle Relay, the only event of the opening night.
The Panthers picked up 40 points to end the day one in fourth place Florida Tech's top relay team of
Casey Holder,
Miranda Olhasson,
Kiera Ceely and
Katherine Helminiak finishing the 800 Free Relay in a time of 7:52.89 which was good enough for a fourth place finish.
Tech's B Relay team of
Torie Whitbeck,
Maja Malarz,
Brieleigh Wescott and
Brynn Romberger finished 12
th with a time of 7:56.37 which was big enough to help out the team effort.
Defending NCAA Division II Campions Nova Southeastern, finished the event with a first place finish In a time of 7:13.27, Followed by Tampa (7:30.23) and Florida Southern (7:33.71)
Up Next: Day Two of the SSC Swimming Championships will begin at 10 A.M. starting off with prelims, followed by the finals beginning at 6 P.M.
