LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Tech baseball team traveled to Lakeland on Friday night for its final series opener of the season against Florida Southern. The Mocs' bats were too much for the Panthers as Tech fell, 22-6.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- The FSC bats came out hot in the bottom of the first and put up seven runs on four hits and a Panther error, including a two-out grand slam from Rohsean Riley, to take an early lead.
- The Mocs pushed their lead to 9-0 in the bottom of the second after a two-run home run by Jaiden Warde.
- Tech's offense came alive in the top of the third inning. Jacob Guthrie led off with a single and came home when Austin Sewell launched a home run over the left field fence to put the Panthers on the board, 9-2.
- A few batters later, Carlos Guzman doubled home Brett Kelly, Marshall Burke brought in Josh Ford on a sacrifice fly, and Noah Burke singled up the middle to plate Guzman and cut the Mocs' lead down to 9-5.
- FSC got three runs back in the bottom half of the frame to make it a 12-5 game.
- After a scoreless fourth and fifth, the Mocs exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the sixth, including another grand slam, to take a 20-5 lead.
- Tech brought in a run in the top of the seventh on an FSC error to make it a 20-6 game.
- The Mocs tacked on one more run in both the seventh and eighth innings to give the game its final score of 22-6.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Florida Tech moves to 35-114 all-time against Florida Southern, including a 15-64 record all-time on the road in Lakeland.
- Jason Blackstone has now reached base safely in 41 straight games played.
- Marshall Burke is just one hit shy of becoming the first freshman to total 60 hits in a season since Derek Wolske in 1998.
- Austin Sewell clubbed his first home run of the season in the contest.

UP NEXT: The Panthers will conclude the conference series tomorrow Saturday, May 11 with a doubleheader against the Mocs. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Lakeland, Fla.
