Ghezzi’s Early Goal Leads Panthers to Victory over Saint Leo

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Florida Tech men's soccer team gets back into the win column with a 1-0 win on the road against Saint Leo. Ghezzi continues to lead the team on offense with his second game-winner of the young season.

STATS OF THE MATCH
  • Florida Tech wasted no time getting into a groove on offense. Eytor Omarsson took the game's first shot three minutes into the game.
  • A bad foul by Saint Leo outside their own eighteen gave the Panthers a great opportunity on offense. Jacopo Ghezzi laced a strike past the Lions keeper in the 19th minute, putting the team up 1-0.
  •  Both defenses controlled the rest of the first half as neither team took another shot.
  • Saint Leo struggled to grab possession at the start of the second half. Florida Tech's Mario Rekirsch fired at the goal twice, and the team forced two corner kicks in the first five minutes of the half.
