Men’s Soccer Earns Second Top-20 Win, Taking Down No. 18 Spartans

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Florida Tech men's soccer team remained unstoppable at Rick Stottler Field, improving to 4-0 at home with a 2-1 win over No. 18 Tampa. It also marks their second top-20 victory of the season, both at home.

STATS OF THE MATCH
  • The Panthers controlled possession for most of the first half, firing five total shots.
  • Despite only two early attempts in the opening 20 minutes, Tech consistently pressured the Tampa defense in the attacking zone.
  • Tampa finally broke under the pressure in the 41st minute, leaving Tommaso Casadei open just outside the box. Casadei made one move and buried his first career goal to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.
  • Florida Tech carried the advantage into halftime.
  • Riding the momentum, the Panthers struck again in the 54th minute on a counterattack. Logan Collins found Antonio Di Gaudio in the middle of the field, and Di Gaudio rocketed a shot into the upper-left corner to make it 2-0.
