Saint Leo, Florida – Florida Tech Volleyball was back on the road tonight for a Halloween showdown with Saint Leo. Looking for the season sweep of the Lions, the Panthers came out swinging and never backed down.

MATCH NOTES:
First Set: Florida Tech 25, Saint Leo 14
- The first point of this match came from Freshman Isabelle Clark via a kill on the first swing of the match.
- Back-to-back kills from Cordelia Kearns plus a block from Hadley Waldren and Devyn Glassgold gave the Panthers an early 5-2 lead.
- Saint Leo made an effort to stay with Tech, but a 6-0 run from the Panthers extended to lead to 12-5.
- Another huge run by the Panthers with kills from Maiella Riva, Elisa Broggio, and Kearns stretched the score to double that of the Lions (18-9).
- Lion attack errors plus more kills from Kearns and a block from Clark gave the Panthers the first set win.
Second Set: Florida Tech 22, Saint Leo 25
- The second set began with both sides trading points with the scoreline tied at 1-1, 3-3, and 6-6.
- While neither team could find pure momentum, Saint Leo held a one-point lead through the first twenty points, leading 11-10.
- Unfortunately for the Panthers, the Lions used a huge 6-1 lead to take control of the second set.
- Despite kills from Hadley Waldren and Cordelia Kearns, plus another block from Isabelle Clark, Tech was unable to get back in the set as they trailed 21-14.
- While trailing from a multi-point deficit, the Panthers did not back down from the fight. They used a 4-1 run with kills from Kearns and Elisa Broggio to pull back within three.
- However, the Lions put an end to the comeback effort as they went on to take the second set and tie the match.
Third Set: Florida Tech 24, Saint Leo 26
- Needing a response after dropping the second set, the Panthers came out swinging in the third set. They used three kills and a block to open the set with a 5-3 lead.
- While the Panthers were earning points, they were unable to get on a big run and take momentum away from Saint Leo.
- After the Lions took their first lead of the set, a kill and block from Scarlett Kimbrell retook the lead for the Panthers.
- Both sides continued to trade points until Tech went on a small run to take the first three-point lead of the set thanks to another kill and block sequence from Kimbrell.
- Tech continued to roll as they extended their to five points at 16-11.
- Saint Leo made a run of their own to not just tie the set but take the lead at 21-20.
- Cordelia Kearns answered right back for the Panthers to tie the set, but the Lions responded with a point of their own.
- Kills from Hadley Waldren and Cordelia Kearns kept the set tied but Tech was not able to retake the lead as the third set went to extra points.
- The Lions earned the first point in extras to take a 25-24 lead before taking the third set and a 21 lead in the match.
Fourth Set: Florida Tech 25, Saint Leo 17
- With their backs against the wall down 2-1 in the match, the Panthers opened the fourth set with back-to-back kills and a 3-1 lead.
- Both teams traded points until a small Saint Leo run tied the match up at 7-7.
- The Panthers answered the run with one of their own with kills from Devyn Glassgold and Scarlett Kimbrell plus a block from Ashley Rants to take a 12-8 lead.
- The Panthers continued to roll and led 16-11 thanks to a Cordelia Kearns kill and a block from Elisa Broggio.
- Tech took a 20-11 lead with more blocks to fully swing the momentum back to their side.
- Kills from Glassgold and Rants plus another block from Broggio and Kimbrell secured the fourth set for the Panthers and sent this match to a fifth set.
Fifth Set: Florida Tech 15, Saint Leo 6
- After storming back to force a fifth set, the Panthers continued to roll and opened the final set with a 4-0 run.
- They began the set with back-to-back kills from Kearns and another Broggio/Waldren block to take control of the set.
- The Lions finally got on the board, but the Panthers were in full control as they took an 8-2 lead at the switch.
- Tech continued to dominate the set, going up 12-6 with kills from Hadley Waldren and Ashley Rants.
- The Panthers finished off the Lions with another block, this time from Cordelia Kearns and Scarlett Kimbrell, to win the match.

- With the win tonight, the Panthers complete the season sweep of Saint Leo.
- Jordan Willis becomes the fifth head coach to reach 40 wins in program history.
- Tech had a total of 17 blocks, the most in a single game this season.
