Melbourne, Florida – Florida Tech Volleyball was back at home this evening for the second edition of the Karman Clash against rival Embry-Riddle. After winning the first matchup between these two early in the season, the Panthers were hungry to earn the regular season sweep.

MATCH NOTES:
First Set: Florida Tech 25, Embry-Riddle Eagles 23
- To begin this rivalry match, both teams traded points with neither side earning a multi-point lead.
- It was the Eagles who found the first run of the set, going on a 5-0 run to lead 11-7.
- The Panthers responded with back-to-back kills from Isabelle Clark and Cordelia Kearns.
- This sparked a 7-2 run for Florida Tech as they stormed back to take the lead 14-13.
- After ERAU tied the set again, kills from Devyn Glassgold and service aces from Cordelia Kearns sent Tech on another big run as they took a 23-18 lead in the first set.
- Two more kills from Kearns secured the set win for the Panthers.
Second Set: Florida Tech 21, Embry-Riddle Eagles 25
- The second set did not start in the Panthers favor as the Eagles took an early 6-2 lead.
- Four straight points from Tech led by Cordelia Kearns and Hadley Waldren got the Panthers back into the set but they still trailed 10-9.
- More kills from Kearns gave the Panthers their first lead in the set but ERAU came right back to retake the lead.
- Unfortunately for the Panthers, the Eagles used a 6-1 run to separate themselves and eventually take the second set, tying the match.
Third Set: Florida Tech 25, Embry-Riddle Eagles 19
- Needing a response after dropping the second set, the Panthers opened the scoring and got out to an early 4-2 lead.
- The Eagles responded, but kills from Scarlett Kimbrell and Hadley Waldren kept the Panthers out in front.
- Blocks from Isabelle Clark and Elisa Broggio, plus more kills from Cordelia Kearns gave the Panthers all the momentum they needed to finish the set strong.
- After leading 20-17, Tech used a 5-2 run with kills from Kearns and Clark, plus a service ace from Elisa Broggio to close out the third set and lead the match 2-1.
Fourth Set: Florida Tech 25, Embry-Riddle Eagles 21
- Only needing 25 points to defend the Karman Clash Trophy, the Panthers knew they wanted to end the match now.
- They began the fourth set trailing but quickly turned it around with a huge 7-2 run to take an early lead.
- Kills from Hadley Waldren, Cordelia Kearns and Elisa Broggio kept the Panthers in the lead, 12-11.
- Despite ERAU taking the lead in the middle of the set, an unanswered 5-0 run from Kearns and Broggio put the Panthers back in the driver's seat, up 17-15.
- The Eagles found a way to tie the set again at 19-19, but more kills from Kearns and Isabelle Clark sent Tech on a match-clinching 6-2 run.

- With the win tonight, the Panthers complete the regular-season sweep of Embry-Riddle.
- With only seven matches remaining in the regular season, Tech sits at 5th place in the SSC Volleyball standings.
UP NEXT: Tech will be back in the Clemente Center this weekend to take on a pair of ranked Sunshine State Conference opponents. The Panthers will host No. 13 Lynn University on Friday at 7 PM and No. 2 Barry on Saturday at 4 PM.
