GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Panther men's indoor track team returned to the Alachua County Sports and Events Center on Saturday, this time to compete in the RADD Legends Invitational. The team followed up on their success from last week with another three top-10 finishes and four top-15 finishes.
Tech's first event of the day was the 1-mile run, where Benjamin Peck continued his stellar freshman year by finishing ninth overall thanks to his time of 4:14.91, which was four seconds better than his time last week. It was the second-best finish by a Division II runner in the 72-runner field. Lachlan McCure dropped eight seconds from the season's first meet as his 4:24.32 time was good for 21st.
Next up was the 600-meter Run, which saw Filippo Bessi earn sixth place (1:21.79) and Jason Hargesheimer earn eighth (1:22.78). The duo were the top two Division II runners in the field. Diego Estebanes' 1:27.68 finish was good for 15th.
In the 5000-meter Run, Tyler Herrera's finish of 15:27.60 was good for 13th place, while McCure's 15:50.08 earned him 19th place.
To conclude the day, the 400 Dash saw top-20 finishes for Bessi (50.13, 12th), Eseroghene Oguma (50.24, 15th), and Hargeshima (50.48, 19th).
UP NEXT: The Panthers will return to Gainesville for the fourth and final indoor meet of the season next Friday, February 7th, for the Celebration Pointe Classic.
