MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Panthers staged a thrilling comeback against Barry, erasing an early deficit with a clutch eighth-inning rally thanks to
Carlos Guzman and
Gabe Garrett. The Panthers capitalized on timely hitting and patient at-bats to secure a 6-4 victory in a hard-fought matchup.

- The Buccaneers ended the scoreless tie in the top of the second inning with three runs.
- A double brought in the first run of the day, followed by a steel from the runner on first base allowing the runner on third base to advance home in the process, and the final run came from a single bringing one home as the Bucs took the early 3-0 lead.
- After a scoreless bottom second inning from Tech and a scoreless top third inning, the Panthers would get on the board.
- Brett Kelly notched a single to bring home Gabe Garrett for the first score followed by an error that gave Jaden Hill the second run of the day cutting the deficit to just one.
- The Bucs put the lead back to two after an error in the field from the Panthers allowed a runner to score.
- The Panthers looked to take their first lead with no outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning.
- With the opportunity at play, Pedro Figueroa flied out to left field bringing home BJ Graham, 4-3 but that would be the only run Tech managed to deliver in the inning.
- In the bottom of the eighth, the Panthers faced a similar opportunity with the bases loaded but this time things would be different.
- After coming in to pinch hit, Carlos Guzman drew a walk with the bases loaded to bring home the tying run, Patrick 4-4.
- Then to follow and take the lead for the first time in the contest, Garrett delivered a single down the right field line bringing home Figueroa and Marshall Burke to take a 6-4 lead.
- Noah Steckley closed the final inning striking out all three batters as he secured the save on the day.
- Sean Means started on the mound for the Panthers lasting two innings giving up three hits, and three runs, while walking none and striking out one.
- Trenten Anderson and Payton McIntosh appeared in relief as Anderson threw five innings giving up four hits, one run while walking none and striking out two. McIntosh received the win lasting one inning while giving up one hit, and zero runs while walking zero and striking out one.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Cole Patrick and Gabe Garrett led the Panthers in hits with three each.
- Garrett also collected a game-high two RBIs and a game-high two stolen bases.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
