Jaden Hill’s Walk-Off Single Secures Sixth Win in a Row for Tech

MELBOURNE, Fla. – In a dramatic back-and-forth battle, Tech rallied in the bottom of the ninth to secure a thrilling 7-6 walk-off win over Lynn. After trading blows throughout the game, Jaden Hill delivered the clutch game-winning single, capping off a resilient performance by the Panthers.

STATS OF THE GAME:
  • After a scoreless first inning from both teams, Anthony Fimiano put the Panthers on the board to give Tech an early lead.
  • A single from Fimiano brought home Marshall Burke. To follow in the same inning, Conner Wiggins, induced a fielding error bringing home Pedro Figueroa, and to end the inning Jaden Hill grounded out and brought home Anthony Fimiano in the process.
  • Tech up 3-0 going into the top of the third.
  • The Fighting Knights got on the board in the top of the third after a single brought in one run, 3-1.
  • The Panthers responded with one run in the bottom of the third when M. Burke hit a SAC fly bringing home Noah Burke and increasing the lead back to three runs, 4-1.
  • Lynn then saw daylight in the batter's box in the top of the sixth inning bringing home four runs and taking the lead for the first time.
  • A double brought in two runs followed by a single that brought in two runs put Lynn on top 5-4.
  • N. Burke then tied the game with a crushing solo home run in the bottom of the seventh at 5-5.
  • In the top of the ninth, the Fighting Knights registered a single that brought in a run putting them back up by one, 6-5.
  • Conner Wiggins up to bat with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, singled through the right-side bringing home pinch-runner Jacob Guthrie for the tying run, 6-6.
  • Jaden Hill then singled through the middle to secure the win as his RBI brought home pinch-runner Jason Blackstone giving the victory to the Panthers.
  • Jacob Pino got the start on the mound for the Panthers lasting five and two-thirds innings giving up four hits, and four runs, while walking four and striking out two.
  • Ethan Stephens and Noah Steckley took the mound in relief. Stephens lasted two and one-third innings, giving up three hits, and one run while walking one and striking out three. Steckley finished the final inning earning the win as he gave up one hit and one run while walking two and striking out one.

NOTABLE PANTHERS:
  • Jaden Hill led the Tech with two RBIs on the night and had the walk-off game-winner.
  • Anthony Fimiano and Conner Wiggins led the Panthers in hits with three each while Wiggins led Tech in stolen bases with two.
  • Marshall Burke and Noah Burke collected two hits each, while N. Burke registered the game's only home run.
  • Wiggins led Tech with two stolen bases.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
  • All-time vs. Lynn: 53-50
  • Since the start of 2015, Tech holds a now 22-8 advantage in the series, with the Panthers having won nine of 14 since the start of 2021.
  • Tech is 32-21 all-time at home against Lynn, including a now 16-3 mark since 2013.
  • Now the longest winning streak since winning seven in a row between March 4-15, 2023.
