MELBOURNE, Fla. – Two Florida Tech men's basketball team members earned a spot on the College Sports Communications (CSC) Academic All-District team when the organization announced its selections on Tuesday
. Donovan Murphy and
Logan Allen represent the Panthers on the CSC Academic All-District team.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top scholar-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-team, second-team, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-April.
Murphy, a senior, is earning his bachelor's degree in computer science and is holding a 3.94 grade point average. This is the first time that Murphy has earned Academic All-District® status in his career. This season, he reached a career-high in rebounds with 106, the fifth most on the team.
Allen, a sophomore, is earning his bachelor's degree in civil engineering and holds a perfect 4.00 grade point average. This is the first time Allen has earned Academic All-District status in his career. This season, his first with Tech, he led the team in rebounds with 121, finished second in blocks with 16, and finished third in points with 215.
Florida Tech will look to make a splash next year after finishing the season 6-22 overall and 3-17 in the Sunshine State conference.
