MELBOURNE, Fla – Florida Tech baseball battled throughout the weekend but ultimately dropped the series to No. 2 Tampa. The Panthers fell 9-2 in game one and 4-2 in game two of today's doubleheader as the nationally ranked Spartans secured the series win. Despite the setbacks, standout performances from

Gabe Garrett gave Tech bright spots to build on.

- Tampa started fast in this one as they collected four runs in the top of the first to start the game.
- Nico Saladino singled, bringing home one, Brayden Woodburn doubled, bringing home one, and Jhoander Irigoyen homered, bringing home two, 4-0.
- Tampa added on two more scores over the second and third top innings behind a ground out that brought home one run and a throwing error by the Panthers that brought in the other, 6-0.
- The Panthers responded in the bottom of the third inning from a Pedro Figueroa single to left field that brought home Jason Blackstone, 6-1.
- In the next at-bat, Carlos Guzman singled to right center, bringing home Figueroa, cutting the deficit to four, 6-2.
- Tech would only have one true opportunity to make a difference in this game, coming in the bottom of the sixth inning with two outs and the bases loaded, but a ground ball retired the inning and the chance for the Panthers to add to their total.
- The Spartans added three more runs to their total, helping secure the win behind two singles and a passed ball, 9-2.
- Aidan Lenzen got the start for the Panthers and took the loss, lasting six innings, giving up seven hits and six runs while walking two and striking out one.
- Zach Rodgers and Payton McIntosh saw time on the mound in relief. Rodgers lasted one inning, giving up zero hits and zero runs while walking one and striking out one. McIntosh finished the game's final two innings, giving up three hits and three runs while walking three and striking out none.

- After a scoreless inning from both sides, Anthony Fimiano put the Panthers on the board first with a home run in the bottom of the second, 1-0.
- In the bottom of the third inning, Roman Samson induced a fielding error, which allowed Conner Wiggins to cross home plate, adding to Tech's lead, 2-0.
- Tampa responded in the fifth and sixth innings, both via groundouts that brought in a run each to tie the game at 2-2.
- The defense from both clubs tightened and it wasn't until the ninth inning when Tampa broke through for their first lead of the game after a single from pinch-hitting Lenny Ashby brought in one run, and to follow Jordan Williams tripled to bring home the second run, 4-2.
- In response, the Panthers managed to only get on base via a walk and would fail to collect a run, leading to a Spartan win, clinching the series sweep.
- Trenten Anderson got the start for the Panthers, lasting six innings, giving up five hits and two runs while walking two and striking out five.
- Noah Steckley and Ridge Skarbek saw time on the mound in relief. Steckley took the loss, lasting two and two-thirds innings, giving up four hits and two runs while walking two and striking out three. Skarbek finished the game's final one-third of an inning, giving up zero hits and zero runs while walking none and striking out none.
