MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Tech's Director of Athletics,
Jamie Joss, announces the promotion of
Sarah Irizarry to Assistant Athletic Director for Facility Services.
In this elevated role, Irizarry becomes an integral member of the athletics leadership team, advising on both strategic initiatives and daily operations that impact the department and its scholar-athletes.
"Sarah's promotion to Assistant Athletic Director for Facility Services is a testament to her dedication, expertise, and invaluable contributions to Florida Tech Athletics over the years," said Joss. "Her deep understanding of our facilities and experience as a former scholar-athlete and coach gives her a unique perspective that will greatly benefit our department.
"Sarah's leadership in this expanded role will be crucial as we continue to enhance our athletic facilities and create the best possible environment for our scholar-athletes to succeed. We're thrilled to have her as a key member of our leadership team and look forward to the positive impact she'll make in this new capacity."
Irizarry will oversee the management and daily operations of all Florida Tech athletic facilities, including the Clemente Center, Panther Athletic Complex, Panther Aquatic Center, and Varsity Training Center. Her responsibilities include coordinating all facility scheduling through the Event Management System (EMS) in close collaboration with University Events & Protocol, Intramurals and Recreational Sports, Club Sports, and ROTC.
In addition to scheduling, Irizarry will lead the department's efforts in facility maintenance and risk management. She will work closely with campus partners and external vendors to address custodial, structural, and equipment needs, completing work orders and service requests to maintain the safety and functionality of all athletic venues. Her oversight includes managing both routine and long-term facility upkeep and ensuring that all spaces operate effectively and meet high standards of quality.
Irizarry brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as the Director of Operations for Florida Tech's Charles and Ruth Clemente Center since 2011. A proud Florida Tech alumna, she was a member of the Panther softball team from 2007 to 2011 and later contributed as a volunteer assistant coach from 2012 to 2018.
