MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Tech men's cross country runner Shane Levesque has been named the Sunshine State Conference Runner of the Week following his second-place finish at the Ed Holloway Classic.
A transfer in his first season with the Panthers, Levesque becomes the program's first SSC Runner of the Week since Malte Stockhausen earned the honor on September 9, 2019.
Levesque crossed the finish line in 26:26.13 on Friday evening in Lakeland, helping guide the Crimson and Gray to fourth place in the team standings. Racing near the front of the pack throughout the meet, he made his move into second place during the final mile. His finish marked Florida Tech's highest individual placement since Niels Buitenhuis won the Fire Invitational in 2024.
Behind Levesque's performance, the Panthers finished in fourth behind only Bethune-Cookman and two conference opponents. All six Florida Tech runners placed inside the top 50, including two in the top 20.
The Panthers next travel to Alabama for the UAH Chargers XC Invitational on Saturday, October 24, beginning at 9 a.m. ET.
