GAME NOTES:
  • For the fourth time this season, Jeff Davis led off the game with a base hit for the first Panther baserunner of the afternoon.
  • After Anthony Fimiano moved Davis to third, he scored the first Panther run of the contest off an Adrian Dominguez single to left field.
  • Valdosta wasted no time responding, scoring off a single and an error to tie the game at 1-1 after the first inning.
  • The Blazers threatened to score again in the bottom of the second, but Hunter Stolov worked through traffic to keep the game tied at 1-1.
  • The Panthers retook the lead at the top of the third after Anthony Fimiano drove a ball to the left-center gap for a ground-rule double to score William Rollings.
  • Hunter Stolov continued to settle into his outing as he held VSU scoreless for four straight innings, keeping Tech in the lead 2-1 as the game reached the sixth inning.
  • Tyler McClanahan stayed hot in Georgia, picking up another hit and RBI to extend the Panther lead to 3-1.
  • Marcello Cortale added another run for Tech when his ground ball to shortstop allowed Gabe Roque to score on a Blazer throwing error.
  • Valdosta struck back with a three-run inning to tie the game, but Reilly Kuhar entered the game and induced a huge double play to keep the Blazers from taking the lead.
  • Kuhar took the mound again in the bottom of the seventh and tossed a clean inning with another double play turned by the Panther middle infield.
  • Still knotted at 4-4 in the top of the ninth, Marcello Cortale smashed a triple to deep right-center field but was left stranded.
  • In the bottom of the ninth, an error and two walks loaded the bases for the Blazers to walk it off and steal the final game of the series.
FINAL: Florida Tech Panthers 4, Valdosta State Blazers 5
