- Marcello Cortale added another run for Tech when his ground ball to shortstop allowed Gabe Roque to score on a Blazer throwing error.
- Valdosta struck back with a three-run inning to tie the game, but Reilly Kuhar entered the game and induced a huge double play to keep the Blazers from taking the lead.
- Kuhar took the mound again in the bottom of the seventh and tossed a clean inning with another double play turned by the Panther middle infield.
- Still knotted at 4-4 in the top of the ninth, Marcello Cortale smashed a triple to deep right-center field but was left stranded.
