ORLANDO, FLA. – Ty Harpring has been named the Sunshine State Conference Freshman of the Year for Men's Basketball. Ty becomes the ninth Panther in Florida Tech basketball history to earn this honor.
Ty was a force as a true freshman for the Panthers this season. He played in all 28 games and started 25. He led the team in three-pointers made, was second on the team in total points and third on the team in minutes played. His 77 made three pointers this season was not only tied for fourth in the entire conference but was also the fifth most in Panther history for a single season and the most by a freshman.
Conference-wide, Harpring led all freshmen in minutes played (704), three-point field goal percentage (42%) and total points (327). He was also the only freshman to start more than 22 games and played the most games of any freshman in the league.

Ty was a catalyst behind the Panthers winning double-digit games for the first time since the 2023-24 season. His elite shot-making ability also helped the Panthers finish the regular season ranked first in the entire country in made three-pointers per game at 11.6.
