Records: Florida Tech (17-22, 8-15 SSC) | Eckerd (27-11, 15-5 SSC)
Location: Andy Seminick-Les Hall Field | Melbourne, Florida

GAME NOTES:
  • Eckerd opened the scoring in game one in the top of the first with back-to-back hits.
  • While Jackson Clampitt kept the deficit to just one run, the Panther bats were unable to tie the game through the first three innings.
  • A pair of Tritons base hits resulted in another run in the top of the fourth, pushing the lead ot 2-0.
  • Tech got hits from Gabe Roque, Conner Wiggins and Anthony Fimiano but were still kept off the board.
  • A three-run fifth inning from Eckerd gave them a five-run lead, but Cristian Montes worked to limit the damage.
  • Justis Meadows, Joseph Phan and Marcello Cortale all earned base hits to try and get the Panthers on the scoreboard, but the Tritons kept the game scoreless.
  • More runs from Eckerd in the sixth and eighth innings put them up 8-0 as they went on to tie the series 1-1.
FINAL: Florida Tech 0, Eckerd 8

SSC PLAY – DOUBLEHEADER GAME TWO
Final: Florida Tech Panthers 8, Eckerd College Tritons 13
Records: Florida Tech (17-23, 8-16 SSC) | Eckerd (28-11, 16-5 SSC)
Location: Andy Seminick-Les Hall Field | Melbourne, Florida

GAME NOTES:
  • The Panthers began the rubber match by putting up a two-spot in the bottom of the first. Conner Wiggins earned the games first hit and came around to score on a Marcello Cortale double down the line. Cortale went on to score a batter later when Adrian Dominguez poked a single to center field.
  • While Eckerd responded with a run in the top of the second, Tech went right back to work in the bottom half. Joseph Phan led off the inning with a single through the 5-6 hole, and after free passes to Justis Meadows and Conner Wiggins, the Panthers had the bases loaded. Gabe Roque scored Phan on a fielder's choice, and Marshall Burke pushed the Tech lead to 5-1 with an RBI single.
  • The four-run lead did not last long as once again, Eckerd responded right away to cut the lead back to one with a three-run top of the third.
  • Brady Guthrie kept the Tritons off the board in the top of the fourth and the Panther offense grew the lead once more. Justis Meadows led off the bottom half with a double to left-center and scored when the next batter, William Rollings, doubled down the left field line to put the Panthers up 6-4.
  • For the third time in the ballgame, the Tritons came right back and put up a two-spot to tie the game at six heading into the seventh inning.
  • Unfortunately for Tech, the Tritons rallied in the top of the seventh for a six-run inning to take a 12-6 lead.
  • Jeff Davis, Bryan Perez and Marshall Burke all reached base in the bottom of the seventh and eighth innings, but the Panthers were unable to cut into the deficit.
  • After Eckerd added another run in the top of the ninth, Tech was down seven with three outs left.
  • Not giving up, Jeff Davis and Joseph Phan led off the final frame with back-to-back doubles. While both Panthers scored, the comeback was too little too late and Eckerd held on to win the game and the series.
FINAL: Florida Tech Panthers 8, Eckerd 13
