MELBOURNE, Fla. – Six members of the Florida Tech men's lacrosse team earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team when the organization announced its selections on Tuesday, Jun. 16.

Dawson Long,
Carson Mann,
Zack Ough and Brooks van Esselstyn are the six Panthers on the CSC Academic All-District team.
Jonah Borynec, a junior from Parkland County, Alberta, Canada, had a 3.96 cumulative GPA in his mechanical engineering courses. Borynec played in all 17 games for Tech in 2026 and recorded six goals, four assists and five ground balls. This is his first CSC Academic All-District nod.
Garrett Gmeiner, a redshirt senior from Sykesville, Maryland, earned a 4.00 GPA in his computer science classes. Gmeiner has already earned multiple academic honors in his career including USILA Scholar All-American honors in 2025. This season, Gmeiner had career-highs in ground balls with 26 and caused turnovers with 13.
Dawson Long, a junior from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, notched a 4.00 GPA in his business administration courses. In 2026, Long scored seven goals and had two assists. Additionally, Long hit the game-winning goal over Saint Leo in the SSC Semifinals.
Carson Mann, a sophomore from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, had a 3.81 GPA in his biomedical engineering classes. Mann played in 16 games for Tech in 2026 and picked up a career-high of 20 ground balls. He also caused a career-high of 10 turnovers.
Zack Ough, a redshirt junior from Bolton, Ontario, Canada, earned a 3.52 GPA in his biomedical science courses. This is Ough's first Academic All-District nod of his career while playing 15 games for the Panthers. He caused eight turnovers and picked up 19 ground balls.
Brooks van Esselstyn, a junior from Bluffton, South Carolina, recorded a 3.74 GPA in his aerospace engineering classes. Van Esselstyn receives the Academic All-District selection after being named to the All-SSC First Team, All-South Region First Team and an All-American by the USILA and USA Magazine. He scored 23 goals, picked up 26 ground balls, caused nine turnovers and added eight assists.
