MELBOURNE, Fla. – Former Florida Tech women's soccer player Ayana Aoyagi signed a professional contract with Melbourne Victory FC.
 
Melbourne Victory FC is in the A-League which is the top women's professional league in Australia and is a top 5 professional league in the world. 
 
Since graduating from Florida Tech with her bachelor's of multiplatform journalism in 2024, Aoyagi joined Lilywolf FC in Komatsu, Ishikawa, Japan in May 2024. She joined South Melbourne FC in Melbourne, Australia in February 2025 before joining Melbourne City in September.
 
This season for Melbourne City, Aoyagi was a part of the team that secured a third consecutive Premiers Plate, becoming the first club to achieve the feat across three straight full home-and-away seasons. The achievement also secured qualification for a third consecutive AFC Women's Champions League campaign. 
 
Additionally, Aoyagi has been able to use her degree to work in several different jobs including professional freelance photography/videography, and picking up multiple media jobs including graphic design, ground announcing football games, commentary and social media mic'd up interviews.
 
In the 2023 season with Florida Tech, Aoyagi started all 23 games and only allowed 17 goals with 68 saves against 183 shots faced. Tech earned the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) co-regular season title, the NCAA South Region title, and a spot in the NCAA Final Four.
 
The goalkeeper was rewarded for her outstanding play with SSC Goalkeeper of the Year, CCA South-Region First Team, and USC All-Region First Team.
