STATS OF GAME:
- The first four Panther batters reached on either a walk or hit by pitch in the bottom of the first, scoring Dylan Dohanos, getting the Panthers on the board first.
- Dylan Owens grounded into a double play, scoring Jack Nagy, and earned a RBI.
- Alec Eldridge stole second, but a late throw by the Warriors gave Jakob Newton an opportunity to steal home.
- Paul Castillo hit a RBI single to right field, plating Eldridge.
- The Warriors earned their first run in the top of the second, when Miller Wallace singled to center field, scoring Cooper Kapanke.
- The Panthers would immediately answer in the bottom of the second when Newton hit a RBI single to right field, scoring Hayden Kimball.
- Mason Trocke hit a sacrifice fly to center field in the top of the fifth, scoring Wallace.
- Nick Herbst singled to left field, allowing Joshua Hawksford to score for the Warriors.
- The Panthers answered again in the bottom of the fifth when Alec Eldridge hit a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Brett Parrish.
- The Warriors attempted to shock the Panthers in the top of the eighth when Carter Brinkman reached on a fielder's choice scoring Herbst.
- Dane Weiland homered to left field for the Warriors, scoring Brinkman in the process, and took the lead.
- The Panthers would tie the game in the bottom of the eighth when Eldridge stole second, allowing Luca Wentzel to steal home on the throw down to second.
- Hayden Kimball hit a RBI double to left field, plating Eldridge, retaking the lead.
- The final run for the Panthers came when Dohanos hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Kimball.
- Joey Hecht pitched six innings, allowing four runs, six hits, struck out two, and threw 93 pitches.
- Jason Englert made his college debut in a Panther uniform pitching one inning, allowing two runs, no hits, and struck out one Warrior.
- Aiden Pryzgoda pitched two innings, allowing only one run, three hits, struck out one, and earned the win.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- This was the first meeting between Florida Tech and Winona State since March 12, 2019. The Panthers now lead the all-time series 6-0.
- Jakob Newton extended his hitting streak to 18 with his RBI single to right field in the bottom of the second.
- This was Joey Hecht's longest start in his Florida Tech career.
