PRINCETON, N.J. – Florida Tech men's rowing team concluded their 2022 campaign at the 119
th IRA Regatta on Saturday.
In the Varsity 4+, the Panthers rowed to a fifth-place finish in the Grand Final with a time of 6:25.203.
After the first 500-meters, Tech found themselves trailing all crews. In the next 500, the Panthers gained some momentum to get back into the mix, staying close behind Harvard and ahead of Dartmouth the rest of the race. Princeton (6:20.001), Washington (6:20.897) and Georgetown (6:21.977) claimed the top three spots.
The Lightweight 4+ also claimed fifth in the Petite Final in 6:50.014, nearly two-seconds ahead of Penn.
Tech and MIT battled for the fourth-place position up until the final 500 where MIT was able to pull away. Yale (6:40.796), Georgetown (6:24.828), and Princeton (6:42.892) finished first through third.
