JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –  The Florida Tech men's rowing team wrapped up its afternoon at the Head of the Arlington on Saturday.

The Panthers had one boat in the Varsity 8+ and raced a double.

In the Varsity 8+, the field of six was separated by under 90 seconds. Tech had a good showing finishing in 16:43.0, but was slightly edged out by Stetson who rowed to a 16:36.6 finish. Jacksonville's first and second eight boats finished third and fourth, respectively. Embry-Riddle's two crews rounded out the six.Â

Onat Cakici rowed to a 24:17.1 finish.

"The guys had a decent race in the head race," said head coach Adam Thorstad. "I am fairly pleased with where we finished. We know we have some work to do this winter break."
