Indianapolis, Ind. – The Florida Tech swimming program continued competition in the 2023 NCAA Division II National Championships on Friday at the Indiana University Natatorium with performances in the Men's 100 Back, Women's 500 Free and Women's 200 Free Relay.
2023 SSC Champion
Daniel Aizenberg found a spot at the podium once again by placing seventh in the Men's 100 Back A Final with a time of 48.32. He qualified for the final thanks to his 47.29 time in the prelims. In doing so, Aizenberg earned First Team All-America honors in the event for a third consecutive year. He joins Victor Rocha Furtado as the only Panthers to ever earn three individual All-American awards.
Katherine Helminiak swam in the Women's 500 Free Prelims in the morning and finished 39th with a time of 5:03.51.
The Women's 200 Free Relay team of
Nicole Rautemberg,
Harper Powell,
Debora Xavier and
Shaelyn Rutta posted a 1:34.86 for a 21
st place finish in the evening finals.
Up Next: The final day of competition on Saturday will see Aizenberg compete in the Men's 200 Back and Rautemberg in the Women's 100 Free in what will be the final races of their Florida Tech careers. Prelims are scheduled to begin at 10 A.M. and the finals will start at 6 P.M.
