ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida Tech men's track team returned to the UCF Knights Invite on Saturday morning for the second day of competition as the Panthers competed in their only event of the day the 800 run.
 
In the Men's 800 run. Jaiden Martingano was Tech top runner finishing 59^th in 1:59.32. Brennan Lackey was tech's next runner in 76^th with 2:06.56 followed by Joshua Fernandez-Alvarado in 78^th with 2:07.86. Ryan Zerneke placed 88^th at 2:12.69 and Brycen Haner in 90^th at 2:13.21.
 
Coaches Corner:
"This was hands-down, our best weekend of competition so far this year." Head Coach Marc Small commented. "With over 40 teams represented, UCF did an amazing job hosting the UCF Knight Invite this year. We had beautiful weather on both days and outstanding performances from our young team. The men's 800 is one race that had the entire team excited, watching Jaiden Martingano fight neck-and-neck in his Heat, finishing with our teams fastest time. This coming off running a solid 3K Steeplechase last night I love the effort our scholar-athletes are putting forth and the determination I see after competitions to only want to get better. I'm hoping that with Spring Break our athletes will look to recover as we look forward to next week at Embry Riddle and competing against future conference opponents."
 
UP NEXT:
The Panthers will be back in action next weekend as they head up to Daytona Beach on Friday, March 29^th for the two-day Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic. The meet will be held at the Embry-Riddle Track and Field Complex with the first event scheduled to take place at 11:00 am.
