ORLANDO, Fla. - The Panther men's outdoor track team competed in Day Two of the Black and Gold Invite, an event featuring several Division I programs, at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex.
Five Panthers began the day in the 800-meter dash. The top finisher of the bunch was
Jason Hargesheimer, with his 1:55.51 for 43
rd place.
Filippo Bessi,
Dominic Longobardi, and
Lachlan McCure also ran sub-two-minute times, sprinting to 1:56.03, 1:57.33, and 1:59.28, respectively. It was McCure's first time running the 800 this season.
In the 100-meter dash,
Anthony Akpan clocked in a time of 10.71 and finished 20
th in the event. McCure wrapped up the day in the 2,000-meter Steeplechase, crossing at 6:23.42 and in 11
th place.
UP NEXT: The Panthers travel to Daytona Beach for the second time this season for the Running Elements Classic from April 4-5.
