MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Tech men's basketball graduate student David McCullough and senior Elias Martin earned all-conference recognition, as announced by the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) on Thursday morning.
 
McCullough was named to the All-SSC Second Team while Martin earned All-SSC Defensive Team honors. This is the first All-SSC award for both scholar-athletes.
 
Transferring from Morgan State in Maryland, McCullough made an immediate impact for the Panthers in his only season with the Crimson & Grey. In 27 games, he led the team in scoring with 16.1 points per game (12th in the SSC). The Bowie, Md. native shot 53.1 percent from the floor, 35.8 percent from three-point range, and 74.2 percent at the free-throw line. McCullough also made his presence felt on the glass, averaging 7.3 rebounds per game (13th in the SSC). Defensively, the graduate student averaged 1.3 blocks per game (T-6th in the SSC) and 1.3 steals per game.
 
Martin earned the All-SSC Defensive Team nod after leading a Panthers defense that led the league in defensive field goal percentage (40.6 percent) and scoring defense (69.5) and finished second in total blocks (170) and blocks per game (6.1). Martin himself led the team and the SSC in total blocks (78) and finished second in the league in blocks per game (2.8). His total blocks and blocks per game also both rank fourth nationally across Division II.
 
The Panthers concluded the 2023-24 season with a 16-12 overall record and a 9-11 record in the SSC.
