Melbourne, Fla. – Florida Tech Men's Basketball and head Coach Will Murphy have officially signed five players to their 2026 recruiting class. These five players are the second wave of high school athletes Will Murphy and his staff will bring into the program as they begin the new era of Panther Men's Basketball. Coach Muprhy on his 2026 class, "Our five incoming freshmen share the same fire that will come to define Florida Tech Basketball. They are all winners, have been well-coached as well as fierce competitors that will make the Florida Tech community proud."
Isaiah Gillard – Clermont, Florida
The first commit of the 2026 class is Isaiah Gillard from right down the road in the Orlando Area. Gillard currently attends Dr. Phillips High School and is an impact scorer, having already tallied over 1,000 points in his high school career. Will Muprhy had this to say about the type of player fans can expect to see when Isaiah makes his transition to Panther Basketball, "Isaiah is a versatile guard who stands out for making the right play and his ability to read the game. He competes on both ends of the floor and makes his teammates better. On top of it all, Isaiah is a phenomenal student who fits Florida Tech."
London Hatch – Orlando, Florida
London Hatch will follow his high school teammate (Isaiah Gillard) to Melbourne as the two signed with Panthers together. London, also from the Orlando area, plays his high school basketball for Dr. Phillips where he averaged 10.0 points a game in his junior season. Will Murphy on the 6'5 guard, "London brings passion, edge, and shot making that fits our style perfectly. His unorthodox game creates natural matchup problems for the defense. He will stand out to Panther fans due to the energy he brings to his teammates."
Colin Piper – White Bear Lake, Minnesota
Colin Piper was the first out-of-state commit for the 2026 class, coming from the great state of Minnesota. The 6'8 two-sport athlete looks to bring a smart, physical edge to Melbourne when he makes the jump to the college level. "Colin is a physical Rover with a rare mix of size, toughness, and skill. When I visited Minnesota this summer, he immediately grabbed my attention watching him compete," said Will Murphy, "The decision for Colin was both basketball and books, as he was drawn to Florida Tech's strong engineering programs."
David Young – Sarasota, Florida
David Young was the third Florida prospect signed to the 2026 class and will make the cross-state move to the Space Coast from Sarasota, Florida. David is another big presence in the class, standing at 6'6 and can play multiple positions on the floor. As a Junior, Young averaged 12.2 points a game and 7.0 rebounds a game for Sarasota High School. Will Murphy and his staff are high on the big man, stating, "David has such a high ceiling. He's coordinated, unselfish, and will be a tremendous piece for us to run offense through as a Rover. David's analytical nature will serve him well in the classroom studying engineering as well as on the court."
Jacob Misslich – Franklin, Wisconsin
The fifth player in this elite class comes from Franklin, Wisconsin and looks to be a pure scorer for the Panthers. Jacob averaged over 17 points a game as a Junior and last December put up 42 points for his high school in an overtime win. Head Coach Will Murphy when talking about the bouncy guard, "Jacob is a tough Wisconsin guard who can heat up in a hurry and play comfortably on or off the ball. He jumped out at me when I saw him at a Wisconsin high school event. I loved watching his team become connected and win at Elite Camp. He keeps the main thing the main thing."
