Batchadji Becomes Florida Tech’s First USC National Scholar Player of the Year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Florida Tech junior Sara Batchadji has been named the United Soccer Coaches Women's National Scholar Player of the Year, as announced by the organization on Tuesday, December 16.

Batchadji becomes the first National Scholar Player of the Year in Florida Tech history, adding another milestone to a historic 2025 campaign. Earlier this week, she was named the United Soccer Coaches Women's National Player of the Year, becoming the first women's soccer scholar-athlete and the second overall in school history to earn the honor.

A native of Lübeck, Germany, Batchadji posted an exceptional season both academically and athletically. She earned CSC Second Team Academic All-America, CSC Academic All-District, and USC Scholar All-South Region recognition, along with United Soccer Coaches First Team All-South Region, D2CCA Second Team All-South Region, and All-SSC First Team honors.

On the pitch, Batchadji appeared in all 26 matches, tallying five goals, five assists, and 15 points while anchoring the Panthers' defense. She opened the season with a goal against Auburn Montgomery on Sept. 9, followed by goals in consecutive matches versus Rollins and Embry-Riddle on Sept. 24 and Sept. 27, and added another score against Lynn on Oct. 29.

Her defining moment came in the NCAA Tournament, when she scored the decisive goal against Cal Poly Pomona, sending Florida Tech to its first national championship game appearance.

Batchadji helped guide the Panthers to their third NCAA Final Four appearance and played a key role in securing Florida Tech's first National Championship in program history. She concluded the season with career highs in goals (5), points (15), shots (57), and shots on goal (27).
