CHERRY HILL, N.J. – The Freshman 4+ took home the Lindy Cup and gold medal with a stellar final push in the final 500 meters. The novice boat improved its time from the time trials and semifinals by about 20 seconds.
Tech's Freshman 4+ boat started Day Two competing in the Grand Finals. The Panthers began strong in the first 500 meters before Rollins took the slight lead late. Tech and Rollins were neck-and-neck until the final 500 meters, where the Panthers made their final push. The Crimson and Gray won and took the Lindy Cup at 6:49.601. Following closely behind, Rollins took second (6:56.553) and Carnegie Mellon in third (7:13.443).
In the afternoon, the Varsity 8+ smoked Farfield in the Final 3 by almost nine seconds. The Panthers finished with a time of 6:09.766, taking 13
th place overall at the Dad Vail Regatta.
Rounding out the Panthers time at the Regatta was the Doubles as
Mitchell Davis and
Hayden Linkel finished in fourth in the petite final, clocking a 7:42.080.
