CHERRY HILL, N.J. – The Florida Tech men's rowing team rolled out three boats: the freshman 4+, the varsity 8+, and the varsity double. The freshman 4+ made the grand final after taking first in their semifinal.
The Panthers opened the Dad Vail Regatta with the men's freshman 4+ finishing second in the morning's time trial in a 10-crew field with a time of 7:06.222, just behind Rollins (7:03.142). Rounding out the top five times were Boston College (7:23.430), Carnegie Mellon (7:30.834), and California-Berkeley (7:31.028).
In the Men's Varsity 8+, Tech earned a time of 05:56.368 in the time trial, which earned them a 13-place finish. Tech will compete in the Petite Final on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Hayden Linkel represented Tech in the Varsity Doubles, producing a time of 7:21.812. After taking 10
th place, the duo earned a spot in the afternoon's second semi-final with Clarkson (6:58.838), Oklahoma City A-Team (6:49.004), Adrian (6:51.810), William and Mary (7:00.762), and Rhode Island (7:25.806).
Kicking off the afternoon's semifinals was the Freshman 4+. Tech took a significant lead right from the jump and never let up. The Panthers finished first with a time of 7:08.500, securing a spot in the Grand Final with Rollins (7:05.168), Carnegie Mellon (7:23.798), California-Berkeley (7:30.380), Boston College (7:34.352), and William and Mary (7:38.568). The Grand Final is set for Saturday at 8:45 a.m.
In the Double, the Panthers missed qualifying for the grand final with a fifth-place finish in the semifinals, clocking a 7:54.356. They will row in the Petite Final on Saturday at 12:05 p.m.
