MELBOURNE, Fla. – The NCAA unveiled its first edition of the South Regional rankings on Wednesday afternoon, with Florida Tech softball coming in at No. 7.
The Panthers hold a 29-16-1 overall record and sit fourth in the Sunshine State Conference at 15-11 in league play. Tech owns notable wins over current No. 7 North Georgia and No. 13 Angelo State, while also securing a ranked victory over then-No. 18 Rogers State.
The ranking marks a significant moment for Florida Tech, as it is the program's first appearance inside the top eight since 2019, the same season the Panthers captured the NCAA South Region title and made a deep postseason run.
With the initial regional rankings set, Florida Tech will aim to strengthen its position down the stretch. The Panthers close out the regular season with a three-game series at Barry, beginning Friday, May 1.
