MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference has released its weekly award with Florida Tech's
Jax Francisco earning SSC Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday, Apr. 6.
Jax Francisco, a redshirt senior from Westminster, Maryland, records his third SSC Defensive Player of the Week this season. Francisco was a wall in net this week as he totaled 31 saves while picking up wins against No. 17 Rollins on Wednesday, Apr. 1 and against No. 14 Saint Leo on Saturday, Apr. 4.Â
Against the Tars, Francisco had a career-high of 20 saves against Rollins. Additionally, he allowed six goals which is his second lowest of the season while he had a save percentage of .769 which is his second highest of 2026. Francisco faced 45 shots against in the game.
Francisco was crucial in the Panthers win against the Lions as he made 11 saves while facing 31 shots. He only allowed eight goals.
Tech's goalie leads the Sunshine State Conference with a save percentage of .615 while he also leads in saves per game (12.36) and total saves (136).Â
Francisco and the rest of the Panthers are back in action against Florida Southern on Wednesday, April. 8 at 7:30 p.m.Â
