MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference has announced that Florida Tech's Parker Kane has been named SSC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, Mar. 30. Additionally, Steve Ulrichs was awarded the SSC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.
 
Parker Kane, a redshirt freshman from Jacksonville, Florida, earns offensive player of the week honors after scoring a career-high four goals in the Panthers win over Lynn on Saturday, Mar. 28. Kane totaled five points as he added an assist in the game.
 
Kane's first goal came late in the second quarter as he found the back of the net with seven seconds remaining. He scored again with 1:34 remaining in the third quarter. Kane was busy in the fourth quarter as he picked up the assist on Robert McNamara's goal. Shortly after, he scored at the 4:55 and 4:12 marks to aid the Panthers huge win over Lynn.
 
Steve Ulrichs, a redshirt senior from Richmond, Virginia receives his third defensive player of the week award this season. Tech has now recorded five consecutive DPOTW awards as Jax Francisco and Ulrichs has combined for five this season. Ulrichs earns the award after picking up five ground balls, causing four Lynn turnovers and scoring twice on the offensive end.
 
Ulrichs scored both goals in transition and led the Panthers in ground balls. He and Kevin Wolfe were the leaders in the game with four caused turnovers. Ulrichs is currently tied for second in the SSC with 18 caused turnovers and 10^th with 29 ground balls.
 
Kane, Ulrichs and the rest of the Panthers will be back in action on Wednesday, Apr. 1 as they take on No. 12 Rollins in Winter Park, Fla.
