KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Florida Tech women's soccer team was ranked the preseason No. 1 team in Division II, as announced by the United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
The Panthers are coming off a historic 2025 season where they captured their first national championship in program history with a 17-3-6 record. In their 10th trip to the NCAA Tournament, Tech rattled off six consecutive wins coming against Embry-Riddle, West Florida, Nova Southeastern, Lenoir-Rhyne, Cal Poly Pomona and Franklin Pierce.
This season, the Panthers are scheduled to play seven opponents who are ranked inside the top-25 or receiving votes. Tech will open their season in a rematch of the 2025 National Championship against No. 3 Franklin Pierce on Aug. 27. A week later, they take on No. 22 Ashland who made it to the second round of the national tournament last season.
Florida Tech ends the early home stand with two tough match ups against No. 7 Nova Southeastern and No. 13 Catawba on Sept. 7 and Sept. 16. Next on the schedule is back-to-back bouts against RV Embry-Riddle and RV Colorado Mesa on Oct. 2 and Oct. 4.
Their final ranked game comes on Oct. 17 as they take on No. 14 North Georgia in Melbourne, Fla.
This is the Panthers six appearance in the United Soccer Coaches preseason top-25 in program history. Additionally, this is their third consecutive appearance in the preseason poll, first ever preseason No. 1 overall ranking and is the first Florida Tech team to earn the preseason No. 1 ranking since men's soccer did it in 1993.
Tech returns to the pitch on Thursday, Aug. 27 as they take on No. 3 Franklin Pierce. Kickoff is slated for a 5:00 p.m. start on Rick Stottler Field.
